Beati mundo cordeAfter the community motto, beati mundo corde -- "Blessed are the pure in heart" -- the Sisters of St. Mary embrace growth in holiness through the strengthening of their relationship with God through prayer and study.
The Sisters share their commitment to prayer and study through open classes offered through the St. Mary's Institute of Christian Studies and conducted silent retreats. The Sisters are also available to go out to lead Quiet Days, retreats or other programs in local churches. Our convent library houses over 15,000 books cataloged through an online search database. Scholars and students looking for volumes not easily available through other sources are welcome to make a study retreat in our Guest House. Guest accommodations are limited. We encourage visits from individuals seeking to make retreat or engage in some aspect of our ministries. |

Traditional Silent RetreatsRecollection is a term used in traditional Christian ascetical theology to refer to a return to an interior focus on God. The Sisters offer Traditional Silent Retreats twice a year to facilitate the development of the lost practice of recollection and recovery of the essential stillness which is the heart of contemplative prayer.
